“More Words For Strivers” - Saturday, March 23, 2024, 12:41 AM

What were the odds?

If you ran the statistics for your existence what would they be? Biologically? Socio-economically?

I'm sure the lifestyle, the comfort, and the freedom you routinely see isn't normal, yet for some good reason it isn't nearly enough.

Of course, you're grateful for all the stuff you've been given, but the fact remains important things must be taken… by you.

You're not mistaken.

This world only has three types of humans.

People working to regain what they’ve already lost.
People working to retain what they already have.
People working to gain what they always wanted.

As a frequent fighter and forever striver, you’ve already done the math for a perpetual more life, more growth mindset even during a setback, so what does “more” look like right now to be exact?

I ask this as more is more often asked of you.

The difference between you and the other two has always been the level of difficulty and expectancy.

In a world fascinated with the latest and greatest, doing what you've always done only gets more expensive by the minute and the longer a gift remains unchanged the less Earthly inhabitants value it.

It’s hard to lose a step and fight to get it back.
It’s harder to remain focused and maintain under attack.

But how do you do what you've already done and what’s never been done in front of everyone, in a room full of moving targets?

That’s the hardest.

At some point doing the miraculous becomes less about having the ability and more about the frequency of delivery and its impact on collective victories, especially for Steph Currys.

Half court threes and MVPs don't make up for team injuries, so a fifth ring can be an elusive mystery.

If you’re only passionate about being great in one dimension please know this message was never intended for you.

If you dedicated your whole life to school, we’d hope you know a thing or two.

That’s hardly impressive, when strivers are amazing moms and dads too. Strivers are running 10Ks too. Strivers see a professional plateau, apex, then touch the sky too.

For those taking a multidisciplinary approach to an incredibly successful life, I’ve been accumulating questions instead of offering unsolicited advice.

These days you’re the only ones I look up to while I roll the dice and in a couple months I’m seeing wedding rice, so how do you respond when someone tries to take your slice?

Is your first reaction naughty or nice?

If the marathon continues, how do you keep your eyes on the prize as the feds tax your exercise and you're coaching the next runner up?

Lately, I’ve been testing defeated foes to see if they’re capable of running up, because what’s after the universe, when the world is never enough?

Maybe I’m tripping so I figure I should sit down and listen. CNN’s saying everyone’s triggered, so my finger’s itching for an impossible mission.

They love Wale for his ambition, but who can’t stand your master plans? I never moon the fans, but we’re flashy in the stands and every once in a while we gotta throw these hands.

Our inner fire often has us running into darkness inviting all the smoke, and we moved up a weight class ever since our punchlines became bespoke.

My favorite response to two too many options is always give me both. I wasn’t looking for trouble but I don't mind rocking the boat.

Word to Aaliyah.

Who was the last person to underestimate you and how long did it take them to realize that you’re seriously going to be problem?

I ask my super friends how many times did they have to save Gotham until they needed a Robin? Since politicians rather enable Jokers instead of stopping them, are they thinking big picture or are they cropping them?

No fear.

For all the people living like they were never supposed to be here, I’d like to join your sixth sense of urgency like we’re playing Metal Gear.

Solid.
Liquid.
Gas.

If we’re speaking on the elements of excellence when is it time to go hard body?
Between all the flattery, how do you test loyalty and honesty?

Don’t trust me as far as you can throw me, trust me as far as you can quote me. If you heard what I said then you should already know me.

I was taught to make bold statements when too many speak in italics. Schemers think talking sideways is stylish until they see the new balance.

In so many words, I’m looking for another insurmountable challenge to conquer with wonder wanderers who despise everything cowardly and mediocre.

Bears can become the pokers when paradise gets warmer, so I’m hoping every one of you wake up from your slumber this summer.
