When did it start? There’s clearly been a change of heart that’s pulling us apart.

Sometimes I feel like the only one who listened to “I’m a Boss” by Meek Milly and took it seriously. I left my signature on the trajectory so it can’t be a mystery.

I can see it in their face that my presence brings misery, but they keep it to themselves because their spouse follows me closely.

Why?

Ease up, near and distant brethren, I've already got a wifey.  There’s no reason for you to disparage me internally, but since it’s been a while let me address you directly.

Last week I bruised my ribs but still found myself on the winning team, so it must be said set-backs could never diminish my self-esteem.

Yes, I’m still all about achievement and intentionally connect with those who value it.
Even when I’m not experiencing it I study how to obtain it, so naturally when one of us prevails, another will hate it.

So have you decided?

It’s never too late to choose a losing side and some of you are taking every opportunity.
Do you know with each foolish decision you move further away from me?

Maybe that’s your goal, but that was never mine.
Is it pompous to recognize when an unfavorable relationship declines?
The growing distance between us is more than time, it’s in our minds.

I’m writing this another time after the second time, because we don’t have to be aligned for me to want the best for you.
I live a rewarding life that refuses to be sidetracked by the worst of you, so will you become a new enemy, too? When you know how I do?

Since silence is your treatment, let me respond with extremely loud and focused action.
If this is the cost of upward advancement, then I suppose we’ll grow by subtraction.

But as I depart, let me be clear, I will only be much better next year.

Maybe this message will stoke the fires for your new villain arch. Maybe not.

But should you see me again, it will be at the top.
