“Saying Less Is Still More” - Tuesday, January 3, 2023, 12:12 PM

On the first day after Christmas, I glided over jagged rocks in velvet house slippers, following a group of eager San Diego adventurers to take ill-advised IG pictures. I feel like there’s a select few who choose danger every once in a while, but how many choose danger with style?

I suppose it’s akin to sending a risky text to a gorgeous woman you're trying to impress. If you’ve never tried it, how can you say you're better than her ex? How would you know you're ready for what's next?

When I stare into the fiery eyes of manifest destiny, I want her to forget about Alexander the Great, even if I cancel our dinner date. People keep telling me not to Texas-up their Cali real estate, but I noticed the southern hospitality is something they gradually appreciate.

But maybe this update is still a little too late.

I pen this letter to fading connections, as funny business continues to keep us at arm’s length. I know how fickle your heart gets in my absence, so our no-nonsense relationship is likely on the fence. When good times turn past tense new dialogue goes past tense, transforming any initial ebullience into a swirl of uneasy, awkward moments.

It's both okay and obvious that you feel safe in silence, but how does not caring what people think lower your mileage? I ask in my latest attempt to be timeless, but I recently learned the significance of questions that refuse to be acknowledged.
